Born on August 11, 1926, in Katzelsdorf, Austria, Frances was the daughter of Celia and Sigmond Wallace. Her family fled to Cuba in 1938, eventually settling in New York. She attended The Sanford School in Delaware, and continued her education at Arcadia University (then known as Beaver College), obtaining a Masters degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. She was married to Ber Nisenbaum for fifty-seven years, living in Great Neck, New York for most of that time, where they devoted themselves to their family and had many friends. After taking time off when her children were young, she was resumed her career as Social Worker at Parker Jewish Institute, retiring after more than twenty years in that position. Frances moved to The Regency Assisted Living in Glen Cove in 2019, where she made many new friends among the residents and staff, and greatly enjoyed her final years there.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Barbara, Judy Weilbacher (Jay), and Celia Forry (Rick). She was a loving Omi/Grandma to Michael Condro (Sylvia), Matthew Condro, Jason Condro (Sara), Peter Weilbacher (Lauren), Jillian Ortiz-Weilbacher (Jose), and Morgan Madison, and GG to her great-grandchildren, Rhys Condro, Ber Condro, Nicholas Condro, and Jackson Ortiz-Weilbacher, with another great-grandchild, Baby Condro, soon to arrive.
Frances will be remembered with love by all who knew her, and especially by the family she cherished.
