Harvey was born in Brooklyn on January 28, 1933. He attended Erasmus High School and went on to study Economics at Brandeis University. There he lettered in basketball, soccer and baseball and met the love of his life, Evelyn Rosenkrantz, married 68 years. After college Harvey served in the US Army as a Tank Commander. He later went on to have a successful career in the Garment Center.
Harvey was predeceased by his father,Harry, mother, Bess, and sister Zelda(Alan). He is survived by his sister Debbie (Stanley), his loving wife Evelyn and five children Eric (Carol), Ellen (Larry), Michael, Barbara (Charles), Susan (Charles) and grandchildren; Jeffrey (Stella), Jamie (Matthew), Zachary, Julian, Maxwell and Aidan. He was a devoted father and grandfather, affectionately known as GFS.
