Helene Isabelle Schachter (née Schwartz) passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, after valiant battles with cancer. Loving and adored wife of Joseph Schachter [deceased]; mother of Barbara Wallner (Robert), Madeleine Schachter, and Amy Hyland [deceased] (Brian); grandmother of Mark Stagliano (Laura), Emily Lozada (Kirkland), Melanie Wallner, Linden Wallner, Daniel Hyland, and Jessica Hyland; great-grandmother of Ethan Stagliano, Ella Stagliano, Wesley Lozada, Damian Lozada, and Gavin Lozada. Helene was President of Sisterhood of Temple Israel of Great Neck, President of the North Shore Long Island Branch of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, Vice President of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, and Chair of Adult Education Trips for Great Neck Public Schools. A funeral service will be held at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, located at 55 North Station Plaza, Great Neck, NY 11021, on November 23, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
