Henry Spector was born in 1933 and saw the world through an enormous amount of change. He was raised by first generation immigrants shortly after the depression. He went to Bronx Science, City College, and was in the first graduating class of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After residency training and the Public Health Service, he joined an internal medicine practice in White Plains, NY. He rose as a respected member of his medical community and retired as head of the medical staff at White Plains Hospital. He was happily married to Ann Masarof Spector for 38 years until her death. His life, remarkably, had a whole new chapter after that tragic upheaval. He spent 25 very happy years with Harriet Blacker, whom he also lost too soon. Knowing himself and his need to connect and share his life with a companion, he once again pulled himself up by his bootstraps and found Ellen Love. He was a complex human, immensely funny, very well educated and informed about the world. He was tremendously loyal and reliable. He was generous and always, no matter what, took care of his people — it was a gift and privilege to be one them. He had 2 children, Elizabeth Lesser (married to the late Steven) and Peter (married to Amy), 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (with one more on the way). He set the benchmark for honesty and integrity. There was nothing that would prevent him from rising to the occasion to do whatever he felt needed to be done. And there was simply no greater feeling in the world than to make him laugh so hard that he cried.
