
Herbert J. Reubenstone – beloved husband of Gloria for 69 years, passed away at the age of 91 on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his apartment in Great Neck. He leaves behind his daughter, Amy and Robert, his son, Richard and Robin, 6 grandchildren: Ali, Steven, Rachel & Justin, Michael & Samantha, Daniel & Ariel, Josh & Lisa, and 7 great-grandchildren: Asher, Noah & Audrey, Elle & Cher, and Elana & Jacob. Born in NYC in 1928 to Abraham and Bertha, he graduated CCNY with a Civil Engineering degree with honors in 1949, he was married to Gloria in 1951, served in the Army building bridges in Alaska and as an engineering instructor in the Korean War, began his career at Tishman Construction before cofounding Windsor Construction, and finished his career at Sorbara Construction. “Herbie” thoroughly enjoyed his career, was an avid tennis player, was very sociable, well liked and respected, cherished his wife and was the handiest person ever. He split his later years with Gloria between Delray Beach and Great Neck. He loved traveling with Gloria, especially to Italy. He also loved mentoring young people in the art of estimating construction costs, at which he was a industry legend. Services to be held at Temple Emanuel in Great Neck at 10:30am on Sunday, Feb. 23rd. Shiva will be held at The Inn at Great Neck on Sunday at 2-5pm.
