Joy Claire DeVries Benjamin, beloved wife of the late Samuel Henry Benjamin for 62 years, devoted mother of Lisa Ann Benjamin, Mark Harris Benjamin (deceased), Susan Frances Benjamin, and adoring grandmother of Hannah Miriam Dancy and mother-in-law of Joel Prihoda, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 21st, 2026. She is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Joy was a successful realtor for over 60 years and was a founding member of The Tourette’s Association of America.
With a strong zest for life and a twinkle in her eyes, Joy was well loved by all who met her. She was a true embodiment of her namesake.
Services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 24th at The Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore, 1001 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY. 11030.
