

Loretta Molk of Great Neck, NY passed away on December 4 at the age of 74, following a stroke suffered ten days earlier. She was the devoted wife of Michael for 52 years, loving mother to Elliot (Erin) and Jackie (Adam) Moskow, proud grandmother to grandsons Jared, Noah, Gabriel, Josh and Toby, and step-granddaughters Jessica and Megan. Loretta always championed her entire family, and cherished the deep relationships she shared with so many wonderful friends.
Born in New York City in March 1940, the daughter of Evalyn and Saul and sister to Richard grew up in Woodmere, NY, where she graduated from Woodmere Academy in 1958. A graduate of The University of Michigan in 1962, Loretta met Michael later that year at their jobs at the Social Security Administration in New York City. They were married in East Rockaway, NY on Thanksgiving Day 1962. The Molks lived in Port Washington, NY for 40 years, where Loretta enjoyed a 25-year teaching career. She had a profound impact on many students and colleagues.
Loretta was a very proud Jew and was an active member of Community Synagogue in Sands Point for over 40 years. Becoming a Bat Mitzvah at the age of 71 was an accomplishment she was incredibly proud of. Loretta was very patriotic and was a fixture at Memorial Day and Independence Day parades and celebrations in Port Washington and neighboring communities.
Loretta will be sorely missed and impossible to forget.
Her funeral will be held Friday, December 5th, at The Community Synagogue, 160 Middle Neck Road, Port Washington, New York, at 9:30am, and will be streamed live at www.commsyn.org. Interment will follow at Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. The family will be sitting shiva at the home of Jackie and Adam Moskow, 70 Taconic Road, Millwood, NY on Saturday evening at 5:30pm until 9:30pm. (service at 7:00pm), Sunday at the home of the Moskows from 1:00pm until 8:00pm (service at 5:30pm) and Monday at the home of Michael Molk, One Ipswich Avenue, Apt 202, Great Neck, NY from 1:00pm until 9:00pm (service at 7:30pm). Shiva on Monday December 8 at the home of Maddy Sylvan, 6 Fox Hunt Lane, Great Neck, NY. Service at 7:30 p.m.
