Lou was loved by years of boys & girls who spent summers at Camp Merrimac in Contoocook, NH. We have fond memories of his willingness to let us have fun, and occasionally participate in that fun.

So very sad to hear about the passing of my "Jungle Lou" (my childhood pet name for him). His wit, his intellect, his acumen are all things that define the memories of my uncle.  Living so far away has meant that my children and grandchildren have not known the man I knew and loved.  My sincere sympathy to Ev, Laurie, Janet, Ken and all who cared deeply for Lou.

"A warm, progressive humanist. Forever in our hearts". I can't imagine truer words to describe Lou, always more of an uncle to me than a cousin. He was a role model for all of us and provides a lasting legacy for future generations. My love to Evelyn, Laurie, Janet, Ken and your families.

It is hard for me to imagine a world without Lou Schwartz. Uncle Lou has always been there, my father's closest cousin whose family and mine were much more like first than second cousins. He was wise, thoughtful, and caring. He was a bedrock of sane thought, and never willing to concede to ignorance. My condolences to Evelyn, and to Laurie, Janet, Ken, and their families.

Lou is remembered for his razor sharp mind and progressive thought. In our mind, he will always be forever young. Love to Ev, Laurie, Janet, Ken and families from his brother Jack's family: Lillian, Phyllis (Edward, Justin, Kristina, Linstead, Randi), Daniel (Anne, Alison), Nadine (Michael, Eric, Melissa and their children).
