
Szuchmacher - Pinkus H, MD, FACS of Manhasset, New York. Beloved husband for 51 years of Ellen, devoted father of Amy, Jill, and Emily, loving father-in-law to Jeff, Naomi, and Shawn, adored brother-in-law of Laurie Rogen and brother of Isac Szuchmacher, devoted uncle of Mauricio, Denis, Daniela, and Henrique, and cherished grandfather of Ariel, Eva, Hannah, Cory, Gideon, and Levi.
A dedicated physician, Dr. Szuchmacher saved and improved countless lives after emigrating from Brazil in 1965 to spend 50 years in practice as a vascular surgeon caring for patients and training residents at Elmhurst Hospital, Booth Memorial, New York Hospital of Queens, Mount Sinai, and Mount Sinai Queens.
His zest for life was infectious, and his fierce dedication to his patients and his family made him an inspiration to all who were blessed to know him. He lived life to the fullest, with an incredible depth of intellectual curiosity, passion for new ideas, compassion and patience for everyone he taught, a profound generosity of spirit, and irrepressible energy and sense of humor and joy. His memory will always be a blessing, and he will be sorely missed.

A funeral chapel service for Pinkus will be held Monday, August 9, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Riverside-Nassau North Chapel, 55 N Station Plz, Great Neck, New York 11021. Following the funeral chapel service will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mount Hebron Cemetery, Horace Harding Expressway, Flushing, New York 11372.
