Rona Sidelle Schwartz peacefully passed away while surrounded by loved ones on Saturday May 31st, 2014 at the age of 87. Treasured teacher, guidance counselor, and social worker, she was an avid supporter of the arts and passionately loved to travel. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Schwartz, she is survived by her sister-Sheila Rosen, children-Dan and Martha, daughter in law-Kitty, and grandchildren-David and Cara and many devoted friends. A graduate of Syracuse University, she dedicated her career to working for the New York City public school system. Her last 25 years were spent in Great Neck, with most of her family residing in the area. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and curiosity, and taught us all to live up to our greatest potential and to never be afraid to fight for what we believe in.
