Sylvia Raynor

RAYNOR—Sylvia, of Roslyn, NY and Boca Raton, FL, on September 9, 2026, at the age of 97. Born in Brooklyn in 1929 to Ruth and Abraham Schwartz, immigrants from Russia, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College. Predeceased by her adored husband, Howard, and her brother Phil Schwartz. Beloved mother of daughters Julie Raynor, Cindy Schoenfeld, and Laurie Weiss; and loving mother-in-law of Mark Schoenfeld and Steve Weiss. Cherished grandmother of Jessica and Matt Hunter, Andrew Gross and Emily Ball, Amy and Jonathan Levin, Elyse and Alex Moyer, Jill Schoenfeld, Zachary and Samantha Weiss, Howard and Ellen Weiss, and Rachel Weiss. Devoted great-grandmother of Orli, Leo, Erika, Ben, Lucy, Callie, Blake, JJ, Luke, Ellie, Emmett, and Cassin. Sylvia inspired us all with her loving care, her enduring optimism, and her genuine interest in each of our lives. She was an accomplished teacher and later joined Howard in running their beauty supply business, Cameo Beauty Supply Co. She never missed a hair appointment.
