

Della was born on February 28, 1927, in Fort Garland, CO, to Frank and Josephine Lobato. She was a devoted homemaker for many years, though she also held various jobs outside the home. She raised seven children and one granddaughter.
On December 26, 1945, she married Patrick Joseph Gallegos in Costilla, New Mexico. The couple lived in Greeley, CO, for 38 years before relocating to Fort Collins, CO, where Della remained for the past 29 years following Patrick's passing.
A devout Catholic, Della attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greeley, and later St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Collins.
She was a fabulous cook as many would always comment on her wonderful meals. She was also a wonderful gardner and was known for her many embroidered gifts. She sewed many items and canned everything she could. She enjoyed camping and hunting trips with her late husband and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by Daughter Veronica Olivas of Fort Collins, CO; Son Patrick Gallegos (Keyla) of Greeley, CO; Son Ken Gallegos of Wellington, CO; Son Ron Gallegos of Bay City, OR; Son Steven Gallegos of Loveland, CO; Daughter Victoria McClain (Alex) of White Salmon, WA; Granddaughter Janean Borgerding (Tom) of Pea Ridge, AR; Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Gallegos; daughter Vanessa Navarro; parents Frank and Josephine Lobato; sisters Helen Gonzalez and Marie Trujillo; brothers Frank Lobato Jr., Ivan Lobato, and Maggie Lobato.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., both at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley, CO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2222 23rd Avenue in Greeley, CO. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, CO.
