Alejandro "Alex" was one of my students at Trail Ridge Middle School. He was is my Social Studies class and he was truly interested in learning about countries, people and geography. He loved to work on projects and worked well with other students. I remember he was a true Broncos fan and I hope he enjoyed the Von Miller jersey that my husband, Mr. V (Valenzuela) and I bought for his birthday a few years back.
Alex would often want to talk about sports, rather than do any homework, but he allowed me to turn his attention back onto his assignment with a "promise to talk to you later about the game after class". He would just smile and tilt his head to the side, give a shy smile and say, "okay". Those big brown eyes would sometimes get me off track and soon we'd be talking about sports again. It truly saddens my heart to know his family and friends suffer from the great loss of an angel on earth. Rest peacefully, my young friend.
