Alfonso was part Spaniard and part Native American. He married Gloria Cruz in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1965 and had two beautiful daughters, Lisa and Laura. Alfonso was a farmer and then went on to work at the meat-packaging factory, Monforts/JBS and after that worked as a security guard for JBS. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Longmont. He was a member of the National Guard. He loved and took pride in his yard work, having the best lawn and yard in his community. He loved tending to the flowers and the yard year-round. Alfonso was very crafty with building small things to be used around the house. He loved watching wrestling. He also always loved decorating with his grandchildren, Cristian and Sydney for the holidays.
Alfonso is survived by his wife, Gloria Madrid; daughter, Laura Madrid; sisters, Connie Gallegos, Nancy Tovar, Molly Dadan and Linda Grine; brothers, James Madrid, Paul Madrid and Ronnie Madrid and grandchildren, Cristian Ortega, Kirsten Robertson, Sydney Ortega and Corey Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ann Robertson, parents, Joe Madrid and Amalia Tfoya, sister, Leta Martinez and brothers, Wilfred Madrid and Ernie Madrid.
A Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
