

Anne MacLean Bowser passed away in Centennial, Colorado June 10, 2017. Anne was born June 7, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA to Charles and Vera (Teetzel) MacLean. She grew up in Blawnox, PA and graduated from Wooster College, Wooster OH where she met Kenneth Bowser, also from Blawnox. Anne and Ken married shortly after college. They first lived in Pittsburgh, then Niagara Falls and on to Whitesboro, NY where they began their family. The family moved to Michigan, living in Dearborn, Edwardsburg and settling in Kalamazoo for 23 years. In 1996, Anne and Ken moved to Centennial, Colorado. Anne loved people and made friends wherever she lived. She continued her education, receiving a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburg and Master’s in Education and Counseling from Western Michigan University. Anne was not only a dedicated wife and mother, she had a career as an elementary, middle and high school teacher and guidance counselor. Outside of family and work, she loved the beach, the mountains, golf, bridge and travel. Anne is survived by her children, Jean L Barker of Centennial and David M Bowser of Cadillac, MI, and her grandchildren Samuel MacLean Barker (Melissa), Catherine Elizabeth Tomlinson (Brice) and Alexander Scott Barker. A memorial service will celebrate Anne’s life on Friday June 16, 2017 at Grace Presbyterian Church, where Anne was a member. The Service will be at 1:30 PM, 9720 US 85 (Santa Fe Drive), Littleton, Colorado. Donations may be made in her memory in lieu of flowers to organizations that she supported, Planned Parenthood or UNICEF.
