Antonio married Virginia Trujillo on September 30, 1957. Together they shared nearly 70 years of marriage and raised eight children, building a home rooted in steady devotion, quiet strength, and enduring love.
A man of few words and a man of action, Antonio lived with a steady wisdom that showed itself in the way he carried responsibility and cared for others. His thoughtfulness was often expressed not in speeches, but in the work of his hands and the constancy of his presence. Hard-working and selfless, he gave freely of himself, always ready to help, always more focused on what needed to be done than on being recognized for it.
Antonio’s love for family was at the center of his life, and he took pride in teaching those he loved to be independent and confident. He was a true “jack of all trades,” someone who enjoyed working on things and could be counted on to figure them out with patience and practicality. He also loved the outdoors—hunting, gardening, and the simple satisfaction of time spent under open skies. Sports brought him joy as well, from cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Broncos to his own love of playing baseball.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Virginia Delacruz; his children, Margaret Orona, Tony Delacruz Jr., Betty Martinez, Beatrice Lara, Norma Medina, Cynthia Gutierrez, Cecilia Martinez, and Caroline Cisneros, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Antonio and Virginia on Saturday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Mosaic Church 3451 23rd Ave. Evans, CO 80620.
