Arnold Raymond Foulk Jr.

Arnold was born on August 17, 1933, at Lutheran Hospital in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Arnold Raymond Foulk Sr. and Theresa Vivian (Drew) Foulk. An only child, he was affectionately known as 'Sonny' during his youth. His childhood took him from Beatrice to Maywood, Illinois, and back again during World War II, when his father's work shifted to support the war effort. After returning to Beatrice, scouting became a defining part of his early years. Inspired by his parents—who established Beatrice's first Cub Scout den and pack—Arnold remained active through Boy Scouts, eventually serving as Troop Leader.

Arnold graduated from Beatrice High School in 1951, where he was a four-year football player and junior class president. He attended Texas A&M University and the University of Nebraska before earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M in 1955.

On August 6, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Lyndene 'Lyndy' Lou Lock. Together they built a beautiful life, sharing 59 years of marriage until Lyndy's passing in 2014.

Arnold earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1959, completed his internship at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha, and then his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. During those years, he and Lyndy welcomed their two children, Jennifer and Doug.

In 1963, Arnold “Arnie” and his family made Greeley, Colorado, their home, where he established a respected OB-GYN practice. Three years later, he joined the Greeley Medical Clinic, where he practiced for 31 years. He became board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and was named a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Throughout his career, Dr. Foulk served the medical community with distinction. He was President of the Greeley Medical Clinic, chaired the OB-GYN Department at Weld County General Hospital for multiple terms, cared for students at Colorado State College (now the University of Northern Colorado), and served patients through the Weld County Health Department. He also served as President of the Weld County Medical Society and the Weld County Unit of the American Cancer Society.

Service to others extended well beyond medicine. Arnold helped establish Greeley-Evans Little League Baseball and served as its first president. He was a longtime member of the Greeley Kiwanis Club and later served two terms as president of the Cambridge Glen Homeowners Association. A lifelong believer in education, he generously supported the University of Nebraska Foundation, the Beatrice Educational Foundation, Texas A&M's Century Club, the Texas Aggie Band Association, and the Nebraska Alumni Association.

Retirement gave Arnold more time to enjoy one of his greatest passions—golf. He was a longtime member of Greeley Country Club and served as Greeley Team Captain for the Northern Colorado Seniors Golf Association in 1999 and 2000. He treasured evenings of poker with lifelong friends, and the companionship of his beloved West Highland Terrier, Lily. He was also a devoted supporter of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team throughout his lifetime.

Above all, Arnold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Kim) Nelson; his son, Doug (Kristine) Foulk; grandchildren Alex Nelson, Jordan Nelson, Amanda (John) Crowley, Natalie (Jake) Klauck, and Griffin (Caroline) Foulk; and seven cherished great-grandchildren: Isla, Jack, Olivia, Leny, Jett, Logan, and Stella.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lyndy.

Interment will be held at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, Nebraska, on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2 pm and a memorial service will be held at Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, Colorado, on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in Dr. Foulk's honor.

Through his compassion, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication, Dr. Foulk touched countless lives. He welcomed thousands of babies into the world, cared for generations of families, and left an enduring impact on the Greeley community. His legacy lives on not only through the family he cherished, but through the many lives he served with kindness, humility, and exceptional care. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.
