Arvella J Rockwell

Arvella Jane Rockwell of Greeley died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Kenton Manor. She was born October 10, 1926 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to William B. and Laura Lena (Miller) Stroeh.

Arvella graduated from LaCrosse Central High School and Madison Area Vocational School. On April 29, 1950 Arvella was married to Brandon Rockwell at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parsonage in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

She worked at the Highsmith Company in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin until she retired. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley; Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W. and the Greeley Senior Activity Center.

Arvella enjoyed gardening, Bible study, Writing Your Life class, reading and her pet cat Morris.

She is survived by her daughter Ruthie K. Rockwell; granddaughter Angela Jean Rockwell; nieces Sharon (Rockwell) Nancarrow, Laurie (Stroeh) Giorno, Julie (Stroeh) Haberman, Jeannie (Stroeh) Bennett, Ellen (Beighley) Havlik, Carol (Beighley) Daut, Diane (Erfert) Patmore, Julie (Carmack) Towle; nephews Allen Rockwell, Michael Carmack, Vincent Stroeh; sisters-in-law Eva (Rockwell) Carmack, Sharon Stroeh and brother-in-law Wayne Rockwell. Preceded in death by her husband Brandon Rockwell; brothers Courtney “Bud” Stroeh and Lyle Stroeh.

Memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment at Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin.
