Barbara Lea Bruntz

Barbara was raised in Barnesville, Colorado and graduated from Greeley High School in 1944. On February 6, 1944 she married Elmer Bruntz at St. John’s Lutheran. They were married for 61 ½ years. They raised two daughters on the farm.

Barbara was a member of the Barnesville Ladies Club and a 4-H Leader for 20 years.

She loved to sew and garden. She enjoyed reading and in her later years, researching genealogy. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She also loved the holidays and the decorating that went with it. Barbara’s life was devoted to her family.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Beverley Schildmeier of Greeley; son-in-law, Rick Christie; grandchildren, Megan Pisha (Marc), Andrew Christie (Kristen) and Shannon Christie and three great-grandchildren, Ava, Silas and Sterling Pisha and expecting another in May.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Janice Christie and son-in-law, David Schildmeier.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
