

Barbara Jean Kipp, 90, of Keenesburg, CO passed away, April 17th, 2026. Jean was born on July 9, 1935 to Wayne and Elsie Mae (McMurrin) Mallory. She grew up in the Prospect Valley area. She graduated in 1953 from Prospect Valley. After graduation she married the love of her life Donald Dean Kipp on July 7, 1953. Shortly after they married, he was sent overseas. She lived with her oldest sister Donna Mae in Aurora, CO until he came home. They moved to Wiggins, CO where he worked on a dairy. In January of 1956, a daughter, Sharon Marie, was born. This is also where their son, Danny Ray, was born in March of 1957. They moved from there to Fort Morgan, CO where they worked for San Ysidro Dairy from 1958 until 1963. This is where their youngest daughter, Darla Joan, was born in July of 1963. Shortly after Darla arrived, they moved their family back to Keenesburg, CO. In 1964 Jean started working for the gingerich turkey hatchery until 1968. In 1970 she started working for RE3J school district until her retirement in August of 1995. After retirement Dean and Jean enjoyed traveling. They especially enjoyed going down to Rockport, Texas every November until 2013. She loved her great granddaughters and great grandson. She especially enjoyed Easter when they great granddaughter would come to her house and hunt for Easter eggs. They loved having great grandma read to them every time they visited. It got so they would read the books to great grandma. They always got a cup of ice cream before they left to go home.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Bill) Lookhart of LaSalle, CO , Danny (Glenda) Kipp of Keenesburg, CO, and Darla Yamada of Firestone, CO. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Brandon Rodriguez of Greeley, CO, Tasha (Nate) Huckfeldt of Eaton, CO, Scott (Bailey) Kipp of Keenesburg, CO, John (Jesse) Kipp of Keenesburg, CO, Adam (Stephanie) Yamada of Firestone, CO, and Justin (Kayle) Yamada of Shawnee, KS. She is also survived by 2 step-grandsons, Danny Lookhart of Greeley, CO, and Dustin Lookhart of Evans, CO. There are six great granddaughters, one great grandson, 3 step great granddaughters, and 2 step great grandsons. Also, a special friend Terry Gonzalez. Jean is also survived by her brother, Charles (Monica) Mallory of Indianapolis, IN and sister-in-law, Cecelia Ann Warren of Cedaredge, CO, Anna Kipp of Roggen, CO, Norma Mallory of Grand Junction, CO, and Sandy Kipp of Commerce City, CO.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, parents Wayne and Elsie Mae Mallory, 3 brothers, Rober Mallory, Delbert Mallory and Donald Mallory, 2 sisters, Donna Mae Tousignaut and Ruth Shaffer.
