Bert E. Reed

Bert Edward Reed, 84, of Greeley, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at his home. Bert was born on February 13, 1930 in Norwich Township, Newaygo County, Michigan to Theodore Edward and Viola (Cole) Reed.

Bert married Marilyn Ruth Cousineau on August 30, 1950 in Big Rapids, Michigan. They were married for 62 years.

Bert and his wife lived in the Greeley area from 1950-1956. They moved to Springfield, Missouri, where they farmed until moving back to Greeley in 1962.

Bert worked at Northern Colorado Traffic Control for the past 17 years. He had been previously employed in the highway construction industry for over 30 years.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping and model railroading.

Bert is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Randy) Coffman; son, Edward (Jennie) Reed; sister, Iris Jones; brother, Bill (Evelyn) Reed; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and parents, Ted and Viola Reed.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
