Betty Evelyn Schwartz

March 8, 1927 ~ October 26, 2010

Betty Evelyn Schwartz passed away at home after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. She was born on March 8, 1927 in Milliken, Colorado to John and Amelia (Grosskopf) Hoff. She attended Timnath School and Bonnie Beauty School in Denver.

Betty married Reuben Schwartz in Ft. Collins on March 2, 1947. They moved to Greeley in 1953. Betty and her husband started Economy Paint and Body in 1954, which later became Economy RV. She was the bookkeeper for many years. Reuben died on September 5, 2003.

Betty was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran church, the quilting group, The Tabitha Circle. She was also a member of Sunrise Sam’s,

085 Mobile Squares, a charter member of Merry Mixer Square Dance Club, for over 40 years, and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by four sons and their wives Gary Lee and Diane Schwartz of Greeley, Donald Wayne and Debbie Schwartz of Johnstown, Richard Dean and Sue Schwartz of Kersey, and Bradley John and Dawn Schwartz of Greeley; sister Donna Carlson and husband Sam of Holdrege, Nebraska; brother Jim Hoff of Ft. Collins; eight grandchildren Wendy Mendez, Jackie Ropp, Travis Schwartz, Austin Schwartz, Jessica Wright, Emily Pantoja, Tiana Schwartz and Lindsey Schwartz; ten great-grandchildren Trevor and Isaac Schwartz, Andreas, Desirae, and Trinity Mendez, Aiyanna and Nasyah Schwartz, Alexis and Jazmine Pantoja, and Kalina Wright.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter Susan Diane; her parents John and Amelia Hoff; two brothers Elmer Hoff and Ronald Hoff.

Visitation 1-5 Sunday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1800 21st Ave. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
