

Calvin spent his childhood in the Denver area. He lived in Roswell, New Mexico before moving to Loveland. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. After his service he worked for Wright Tree Service in Denver and then Leprino Foods as an over the road truck driver, earning the million miles with no accidents award twice. After his retirement he lived at Carter Valley Campground and later in West Jordan, Utah with his son and daughter-in-law before returning to Greeley. He was an accomplished harmonica player, playing in several bands through out his life. He never met a stranger and never missed the opportunity to tell a story, tell a joke or share one of his many poems written about a specific life event. He enjoyed taking the family camping, going hunting and fishing and conversations over a good meal together.
In 1959, he married Janet and they had two sons, Michael Eugene and James Patrick. He later married Lynda Stedman in 1964 and they had two daughters Colleen “Koko” Swindell and Kristine “Kris” Flournoy. In 1978 he married Dorothy Finch and helped raise three stepdaughters.
Calvin “Pat” is survived by his two sons, Michael (Jolene) Johnson of Evans, CO, James (Cathy) Johnson of Bozeman, MT, his two daughters, Colleen “Koko” (Jeff) Swindell, Kristine (Lee) Flourney of Azle, TX; Six granddaughters, Felicia Label, Breanne Zamora, Natalie (Kyle) Slaymaker, Natasha (Bobby) Marler, Amber Lovett, Chelsey Simpson; one grandson Bobby (Selena) Johnson; fourteen great grandchildren, Raley, Trenton, Corbin Label, Kylee Jo Raspberry, Ryker Zamora, Angel, Naomi, Deziray, Lola Johnson, Kaleb, Joshua, Micah Slaymaker, Gabriel Broussard and Talia Washington. He had three step-daughters JoElle (Clifford) Smith, Connie Thrasher, Jenny (William) Anderson; 5 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and many Uncles, Aunts and cousins.
Pat was a very private man and did not want a service. The family will have a memorial get together at a later date to share stories and remember what a great father, husband, grandfather and friend he was to many.
