

Carl “Shorty” Kinoshita 94, of Greeley passed away December 5, 2016 at Brookdale of Greeley. Carl was born on April 10, 1922 to Motoma and Sunao (Noguchi) Kinoshita in Fort Lupton, CO. He married Elaine Akahoshi on November 19, 1949 in Denver, CO.
Carl lived and grew up in the Ault/Eaton area, graduating from Ault High School in 1940. He joined the Army, serving 2 years during WWII and was in the Military Intelligence Service. After leaving the service, he dedicated 60 years to farming.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, gambling, baseball, and loved to watch sports. He was a member of the Buddhist Church in Denver and the VFW POST 4334 in Ault, CO.
Carl is survived by his wife Elaine Kinoshita; daughters Colleen (Jeff) Mayer, Lesli (Greg Taylor) Howe, Jodi (Jerry) Yakel; sister Marie Nakayama; grandchildren Koren Castleman, Jesse Yakel, Janae Bredehoft, Charles Howe IV, Tara Howe; great grandchildren, Owen, Roarke, Marcus, Jordyn, Jack, Palmer and Layla.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Albert Kinoshita and Willie Kinoshita, sisters Carrie Horiuchi, Helen Ito and Gladys Hiraoka.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Allnutt Macy Chapel Friday December 16, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. Inurnment at the Ault Cemetery to be held at a later date.
