

Carmen Quinonez Samora, 76, of Greeley, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at her home. She was born on December 10, 1938 in Luling, Texas to Candelario Quinonez and Maria Rodriguez. She was one of ten children, seven brothers and two sisters.
Carmen was married in Post, Texas on August 1957. She raised her children in Post, then moved to Plainview, Texas in 1997 and to Greeley on October 1, 2000.
Carmen enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing bingo, singing, playing the piano and traveling to Blackhawk for entertainment. Carmen was very talented-she played seven instruments, all of which she learned to play by ear.
Carmen was caring and loving. She would always donate her time singing at retirement homes in Greeley during the holidays. She was also part of a Knitting Club at Joe P. Martinez at Bonell Good Samaritan Center for the past 12 years and a member of the Spanish Club here in Greeley.
Carmen is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Rudy) Castro; son, Jose Samora; sisters, Delores (Tito) Garza; brothers, Remigo; Candelario (Mary), Mingo, Paul (Pat), Raymond (Rebecca) and Eusebio (Mae); five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Samora, sister, Anita and brother, Anselmo.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Floydada Cemetery in Floydada, Texas.
