

Carol L. Rich, 83, of Fort Collins, CO passed away December 31, 2016. She was born May 18, 1933 in Springfield, IL to Carl and Ethel Foster Moore. She grew up in nearby Rochester, IL and graduated from Rochester Community High School in 1951. She attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA and received her degree in 1954. On February 12, 1955 she married Cyril L. Rich, Jr. in Rochester, IL. She was an elementary school teacher (mainly kindergarten and 1st grade) who loved teaching children how to read. She also enjoyed attracting and observing wild birds. Additionally, she liked to grow and maintain indoor and outdoor plants and flowers. Carol is survived by: son, Carl L. Rich; daughter, Carolyn (Antoun “Tony”) Ghantous; brothers, Carl and Ralph (Carolyn) Moore; grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Ghantous; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cyril, and her parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Collins, CO.
