

Greeley, Colorado, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 19, 1948, in Greeley to Billy Jean and Roger “Ole” Reeve, Carolyn grew up with strong family values and a deep sense of community. She graduated from Valley High School in Gilcrest and went on to earn her degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Her early years were marked by adventure, including time spent living in Germany with her beloved husband, Donald Baumgartner, during his military service. Upon returning home, Carolyn began what would become a nearly three-decade career as a passionate and devoted third-grade teacher. Her dedication to education touched the lives of countless students, many of whom remember her not only as a teacher but as a mentor and friend. Carolyn’s commitment extended beyond the classroom as she supported her husband’s concrete business and raised two daughters with love, strength, and unwavering encouragement.
Carolyn was a woman of remarkable warmth and wisdom. A natural storyteller, she had the unique ability to connect with everyone she met, sharing laughter, life lessons, and love. Her impact stretched beyond her family and classroom, making her a cherished figure in the community.
Above all else, Carolyn's most treasured role was that of grandmother. She poured her heart into
the lives of her grandchildren, offering guidance, affection, and boundless support. Her legacy lives on through the generations she so lovingly shaped.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Lisa (married to Mike) Carpenter and Kristen ( married to Jason) Ream; her grandchildren, Christopher (married to Kayley) Carpenter, Jason Ream Jr., and Madison Ream; and her great-granddaughter, Briar Carpenter. She is also survived by her brothers, Jim and Dale Reeve, and her cousin, Toby Bass. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Donald Baumgartner, and her parents, Billy Jean and Roger (Ole) Reeve.
Carolyn Kae Baumgartner was the heart of her family. Her legacy of love, education, storytelling, and her true love of bears will live on in all who had the honor of knowing her.
A visitation for Carolyn will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave, Greeley, CO 80631. A reception will be held immediately after the graveside, at Allnutt Macy Chapel.
