I was a student at East High School when "Mrs. Gonzales" was a young teacher. I was not in her class but remember her grace and professionalism around the school. We retired and moved back to Cheyenne in 2008 where we bought a townhome around the corner from Cathy. It was then I discovered what a wonderful person she was! What a joy to see her walking around the neighborhood; her humor and laughter always brightened my day. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out. I am saddened to learn of her passing and send best wishes to her family. She is so missed.

Cathi was a great friend for many years. I admired her as a teacher and as a leader of educators.
I had to do a lot of traveling for my job so my husband and I appreciated her taking care of our dogs and in particular, our current pet Nobu. Nobu, like our other pets, seemed to be happy when we left so he could spend time with Cathi.
Cathi was both a fun and but serious person. The combination of the two made her a joy to be with. We will miss her greatly.

Ms. Gonzales was my favorite teacher of all time. I had her for both American Literature and American History while attending East High School. Through her teaching, I gained not only knowledge, but a love of learning that I carry with me today. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
