

She died peacefully at her home surrouncded by her loving daughters after battling fallopian
tube cancer the past six years. Cathy was born in Greeley, CO on April 4, 1956 to Don W.
and Delores M. (Swanson) Lindstrom. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1974
where she was a cheerleader and active in sports. In 1978, she received her Bachelor of
Science degree in Recreation Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. That
year she became Recreation Supervisor for City of Loveland Parks and Recreation. In 1981,
she was honored with the Outstanding Young Professional Colorado Parks and Recreational
Association award. She was later employed by C. Michael Spain and Association and also at
University Park Holiday Inn, Fort Collins.
She married Kirk Gentry on July 9, 1988 in Fort Collins. They then became part
owners of Triple Crown Sports. Later they moved to Kalispell, MT and became owners of
Spotted Bear Ranch for ten years, where they raised their young family. Following divorce,
Cathy moved back to Fort Collins and was employed by Lydia’s Style magazine, State Farm,
Olan Mills, and Genesis Health One Insurance. Recently she was blessed by working with
Seniors Helping Seniors. She volunteered with Hospice, Boys and Girls Clubs, Partners,
Lion’s Leads group, and Special Olympics. She was involved with Sonny Lubick’s
RamStrength Foundation and Sharing the Cancer Journey.
She fellowshipped at many congregations, most recently Antioch Community Church.
Her strong faith in Jesus was evident to all, as she walked steadfastly with the Lord
throughout her life. She was a very loving and devoted mom to her three daughters, who
absolutely adored her. It brought her joy attending all their events and activities. Cathy also
cherished many lifelong friendships and appreciated their ongoing support. Some of her
favorite things were celebrating holidays and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
Cathy is survived by her daughters, Jordan, Jessica, and Jocelyn Gentry;; mother,
Delores M. Lindstrom, of Greeley;; brother, Eldon and wife, Alice, of Scottsdale, AZ;; sisters
Cynthia Johnson, of Greeley, Cheryn and husband, Robert Wulf, of Sussex, WI;; aunt Vivian
and husband, Herb, of Severence. She loved her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She
was preceded in death by her father Don W. Lindstrom and grandparents, Carl and Rose
Lindstrom, Benard and Edna Swanson, Silver Manion, and aunt Dorothy Swanson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Foundations Church Saturday February 7,
2015 at 1380 Denver Avenue in Loveland at 10:30 am. A family graveside service will be held
