

Chuck began working for Viet Auto at the age of 16 and enlisted in the Army in 1959 at the age of 19. After he returned from his service, he got a job with Industrial Rubber where he met his wife, Mary Smith-Craig in 1963. They later married on May 22, 1966 and had four children; Tim, Regina, Michael and Christel.
Chuck was a fisherman, outdoorsman and hunter. He loved feeding squirrels and attending his grandchildren's athletic games. He was a big Tigers fan. Chuck grew fond of bicycling in his later years.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary Fain of Loveland, CO; children Tim (Jody) Smith of Benton Harbor, MI, Regina Novacek of Benton Harbor, MI, daughter-in-law Deb Fain of Berea, KY , and Christel (Jeff) Wagonmaker of Loveland, CO; brother Dewayne (Ruth) Elliott of Benton Harbor, MI; sisters Bonnie (Harold) Gast and Alice Main of Coloma, MI; grandchildren Shannon, Shelly, D.J., Rachael, Amy, Joellyn, Leigha, Kory (Chelsey), Jeremy and Sydnie; 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings William, Robert, Carl, Pat, Sandy and Red Cook; and his son Michael.
