Charles M. Johnson

Charles Milton Johnson, 94 of Greeley, passed away on March 9, 2019.
Charles was born August 13, 1924 in Loveland to Lillie M. (Molander) and John E. Johnson. He grew up in the Loveland area and attended schools in Johnstown. He joined the US Army in March of 1944 and served overseas during WWII as a Tech Stg. With Merrill’s Marauders for the China Burma India (CBI) campaign. After service in the US Army, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the Evans, Colorado chapter.
Charles worked in construction and pipeline service for several years. He then drove for Ringsby Trucking for over 25 years and retired at the age of 55. During his years in trucking, he drove over one million miles without having an accident. He continued to drive off and on, as needed, with several other trucking companies until the age of 65.
Charles liked to take small side trips with his sister, Agnes, and really enjoyed spending time in the mountains with his nephew Dennis. He lived with and took care of his sister for about 25 years until her death in May 2012.
Charles is survived by his sister, Shirley C. Hoven, Denver; nephew Dennis Arnold and wife LoyMay, Greeley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Milford, Wilbur and Theodore “Ted” Johnson; and his sister, Agnes L. Arnold.
A visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30 P.M. with services to follow starting at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by a reception in the Allnutt Reception Center.
