

Chary was born October 11, 1937 in Chadron, Nebraska to Ray Berdell Bartlett & Elanor Nieland Bartlett (White) as the second oldest child. Her parents were school teachers who moved around every few years. They finally settled in Nunn, Colorado. Chary graduated with 9 other students in May, 1956. In November 1956, she married Billy Diehl. They had three children, Charlotte, Michael and Jim. She was a homemaker on the farm and ranch. In 1971 she married Orville Woolman and became stepmother to Charlotte, Lynda, Leroy, and Larry. She was a housewife. In 1992 she married Dean King at which time Gwen Early and family and Les King also became her step children.
After being a homemaker for 40 years, in 1997 she decided to join the workforce. She worked at Safeway in downtown Greeley for 15 years until her retirement. When not homemaking, raising children, grandchildren, or working, Chary loved to travel. In her later years her and Dean traveled to Canada, the Redwoods, Yellowstone, Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma and many other places.
Chary was an avid reader at the National Enquirer. She knew everything about every celebrity. She loved country music, polka music, old comedy movies, and had an amazing laugh. Having a good time was always on her agenda of life.
Chary is survived by her daughters, Charlotte (Roland) Shetler of Cheyenne, WY and Gwen (Dick) Early of Weldona, CO; sons, Michal Diehl of Carpenter, WY, Les King of Greeley, CO, Larry Woolman of NC and LeRoy Woolman of Firestone, CO; sister, Jean (Ron) Mark of NC; brothers, Bruce Bartlett of Westminster, CO, Lee Bartlett of Lafayette, CO, and James Bartlett of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Randall (Keith Gonzales) Diehl, Kyle (Grace) Diehl, Russell Lanxon and Robert Lanxon; great-grandchildren, Julian Lanxon, Pamela "Theo" Lanxon, Abiee Lanxon and Rykin Diehl, as well as Miranda (Chris Harper, Lance (Carlos) Early, CJ Harper, and Loganne Harper.
She is preceded in death be her husband, Orville, her parents, her son James Diehl, and Dean.
A Graveside Service for Chary will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
