Clifford R. Dyer

Cliff grew up during the depression in Clark County, Missouri, where he learned the value of hard work and resourcefulness that would stay with him the rest of his life. He attended Revere and Kahoka Schools. Cliff married Norma Jean Baker in 1945 and they started their family in Keokuk, Iowa, where he was employed by Swift & Co.

He was transferred to Hastings, Nebraska in 1952 with Swift and later owned K&R Cold Storage. In 1960, he brought his family to Greeley, to work for Monfort of Colorado in the refrigeration department. Cliff later purchased the Grapette Bottling Company and started Dyerco Fabricators Inc. in 1973 which he ran until he semi-retired in 1998.

Cliff enjoyed the mountains and designed and built his home with wife Barbara Schleiger in the Retreat near Glen Haven. Cliff later met and married Sue Mills in 2010. He was a member of Chapel of the Interlude in Drake and of the Big Thompson Canyon Association.

He and his wife Sue moved back to Greeley in 2015.

Cliff’s mind was always working. He invented and patented several of his ideas. When he was younger he spent many weekends camping in the mountains with his family. After his retirement he was able to spend more time travelling around the country visiting friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Sue of Greeley; daughter, Linda (Thom) Butler of Greeley; son, Lanny (Debbie) Dyer of Greeley; sister-in-law, Helen Dyer of Mesa, Arizona; granddaughter, Jennifer (Robert) Coombs of Brooklyn, New York; many step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert, wife and mother of his children, Norma Jean and wife, Barbara Jean.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
