Her tenacity and hard work left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Connie also had a great affection for dogs, always surrounded by a loyal pack, and she enjoyed creating western crafts. She also made western clothes, handmade halters, and horse blankets for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas D and Esther (Maricle) Schank, her partner, LR Nelson, as well as her former partner and father of her step-children, Mark Peace. Connie is survived by her siblings, Barbara Ann Cox of Greeley, Colorado; Carol Lee Brunz of Redlands, California; and Thomas Larry Schank of Greeley, Colorado. She also leaves behind her step-children, Kellie Peterson (Robert Jaros) and Kristina (Eric) Brott, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Connie's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a dog or horse rescue of your choosing in her honor.
