Cora came to Ft. Lupton as a child, where she attended schools. She married Anastacio “Honie” Morales. He died in 1959. She later met Ray Mora and they were married on November 9, 1963 in Ft. Lupton.
Cora was a member of Sendero de la Cruz Church in Brighton. She and her husband owned and operated PeeWee’s Place (pool hall and dance hall), Mora’s Liquor Store and Anita’s Kitchen, all in Platteville.
After selling the businesses she worked for Morning Fresh Farms until she was unable to work due to an injury in 1986.
Cora was an avid Denver Broncos and New York Yankee fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren at their baseball games. Cora loved to make trips to Black Hawk to gamble and to cook for her family (especially chili Caribe and her green chili). The loves of her life were her Chihuahuas, “Honey” and “Chula”.
Cora is survived by her husband, Ray; daughter, Anita Mora-Judd (Adam Judd) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; son, James Mora (Lorie) of Evans; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Morales of Greeley; brothers, Pres Montoya (Bernice) of Ft. Lupton, John Montoya (Mildred) of Ft. Lupton, Delfino Montoya (Helen) of Denver and Isaac Montoya of Greeley; grandchildren, Isaac Mora (Mandy) of Evans, Jarrod Mora (companion, Stefanie Hutchins) of Greeley, Thomas Judd of Las Vegas, Nevada, Koury Judd of Las Cruces, New Mexico ; two great-grandchildren, Alijah Mora and Xaniyah Mora both of Evans and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Perfecta Olivas and brothers, Ruben Montoya and Roy Montoya.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Mosaic Church, 3452 23rd Avenue, Evans. Interment at Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville.
