Charles “Craig” Fraker, Born October 17, 1953 to Mark and Margaret "Mac" Fraker in Julesburg, CO. The third of four sons, he attended school in Julesburg and Powell, WY before the family settled in Monte Vista, CO. He graduated Monte Vista High in 1971, where he was an all-state and all American football player and a basketball player. He attended Adams State College.
In 1975 he moved to Greeley. In 1977 he married Jean Steinert. They had two children, Jenny Raquel of Boulder, CO and Matthew Justis (Jessie) of Austin, TX. Craig worked for Public Service as a lineman for 17 years. Craig met Esther Warnick in 1990 and they were married in February 1992. To that union she brought Robert Franklin (Rebecca) Warnick II and Vincent Edward Martinez. Craig and Esther celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on February 22nd of this year. After a lovely day at home with his wife, he passed away on March 7, 2014.
Craig loved all sports. He was an avid and loyal Denver Broncos fan. Craig was a skilled craftsman who owned his own construction and woodworking business. He loved camping and times spent in the mountains with friends and family. Always quick with a joke or a laugh, he was truly a gentle giant. One of the highlights of his life was a scuba trip to Curaçao in the Netherlands Antilles.
He is survived by his wife Esther, three of his children, Robert (Rebecca) Warnick, Jenny Fraker, and Matthew (Jessie) Fraker, his seven grandchildren, Justine, Tjaden, Kaylea, Logan, Sierra, Robert Warnick III and Michaela Martinez, and one great grandchild, Cameron Schleve. He has two brothers, Fabian (Deborah) Fraker and Alan Fraker. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother and son.
He is dearly loved and greatly missed.
A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, March 15th at 2pm at Bittersweet Park. We'll be sharing stories and memories about Craig and sporting his beloved Broncos gear.
