Daniel LeRoy Peterson

Daniel LeRoy Peterson, age 93, of Greeley, Colorado passed away peacefully on Friday March 16, 2018. Daniel was born November 19, 1924 to Leonard and Emma (Rehn) Peterson of Greeley. He graduated Greeley High School in 1941 and enlisted in the military soon after. He was a pilot in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Upon returning to the states he attended college; receiving a Bachelor Degree in Business from CU Boulder and a Master Degree in Social Work from DU. Daniel married Marilu King in 1945. They were married for 71 years; she preceded him in death in 2016.

Also preceding him in death are his parents; siblings Bill, John, Dorothy and Margaret; children Bartholomew Christopher, Joseph Lee and his infant son John Daniel.

He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Peterson of Greeley and Jennifer (Pat) Howard of Arvada; son Chad (Lauren) of Nederland; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside ceremony for Daniel will be held this Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave., Greeley, Colorado 80631.
