Danny Joe Counter

Danny was raised in Northern Colorado. He was Christian. He worked as a groundskeeper at Sunset Memorial Gardens and in the 1970s and 1980s he worked at Monforts. He retired as a painter for commercial and residential properties.

On August 28, 1987 he married Natalie Mullins in Eaton. Danny collected diecast and built model cars. His favorite were Fords. He also collected Legos and Hot Wheel cars. Danny built an old-time racetrack in his basement and had a train running through it. He made it in to an Old West town. He enjoyed attending car shows and taking care of his cars. He loved oldies music, yard work and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite holiday was Halloween.

Danny is survived by his wife, Natalie Counter of La Salle; daughters, one who lives in New York and Jaimie Counter of La Salle; son, James “Jeremy” Mullins of Brighton; sister, Neva (Lee) Nichols of Greeley; brother, Roger (Star) Counter of Gilcrest; grandchildren, Logan, Libby, Pamela and one more grandson from New York; two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Norma Elaine Counter and Donna Lee Counter; one brother, Ronald Dean Counter; sister-in-law, Levine Counter and a granddaughter, Lucille Ann Counter.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at First Church of the Nazarene, 2515 West 16th Street, Greeley, Colorado. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
