

Darrell was born on February 4, 1960, in South Dakota to Raymond and Beverly Roder. Throughout his life, he demonstrated determination, independence, and a love for family and friends. With the support of Envision, Darrell obtained employment with Schafer Enterprises. He spent many years living with his mom until she could no longer care for him. After that, he lived in an apartment with the help of Envision.
Darrell enjoyed a wide variety of interests and activities. He was an avid fan of WWE Wrestling and rarely missed an opportunity to watch his favorite matches. He also loved classic television shows, especially Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Leave It to Beaver. An accomplished athlete, Darrell participated in the Special Olympics, earning many ribbons for running events over the years. He was also a talented bowler and proudly achieved numerous 300 games, and could also be found shooting baskets with his friends on the basketball court.
Family was very important to Darrell. He cherished his role as an uncle and enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews. Whether attending family dinners, backyard barbecues, or holiday gatherings, Darrell treasured the time spent with those he loved.
Darrell is survived by his siblings, Larry Roder, Shirley Roder, Jeanne Martinez, Lori Wagner, and Laverne Roder; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Beverly Roder, and his brothers, Duane Roder, Jerry Roder, and Marvin Roder.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., all at Stoddard Funeral Home. Darrell will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Darrell's kindness, determination, and joyful spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
