Delores Betty Schuman

Delores Betty Schuman, 87 of Greeley, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2015 at Life Care Center in Greeley. She was born November 21, 1927 in Hayes County, NE, to Power E. and Hannah (Vavra) Rann. She married Kenneth Carl Schuman on December 26, 1947 in McCook, NE. He died on October 5, 2012.

Delores resided in Kearney, NE, Trenton, NE and Greeley, CO. She graduated from Hayes Center High School in Hayes County, NE in 1944.

Delores taught a year at a K-12 country school but was a “homemaker extraordinaire”! She loved reading, cooking, baking, shopping for others, sewing, traveling, Greeley Central Basketball, the beach and tending to her roses. Her first love was her family, especially her grandchildren, and she provided a listening ear and unconditional love to all.

Delores attended the Methodist Church of Greeley and St. Paul’s Congregational Church.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred (late Arveen); daughters Pat (David) Cook, Sue (late Ernie) Tronco, and Jackie (Glenn) Kuykendall; brother in law Neil (late Margaret) Schuman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rick) Kirby, Jeremy (Michelle Marison) Johnson, Elisabeth (Andrea Pagnanini) Cook, Matthew (Brittany) Cook, Delores Tronco and Ken Tronco; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jed Kirby, and Addison Cook; two step-grandchildren, Katie (Noah) Hunter, and Joshua (Lori) Kuykendall; and three step-great grandchildren, Gavin and Grace Hunter, and Dominic Kuykendall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Carl Schuman; her parents; and sister, Elaine Hansen.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. A reception will immediately follow in the Allnutt Reception Center. Private interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
