Denise Michelle Velasquez, 54, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on August 27, 2026. She was born in Greeley on April 11, 1972, to Vincent Paul Velasquez Jr. and Isabel Contreras Velasquez.

Denise was a loving, caring, and generous person whose warmth touched the lives of everyone around her. Much of her working career was spent in customer service, a role she truly enjoyed. She was especially gifted at connecting with people and loved talking with her customers.

Denise had a special gift for bringing people together through food. She was an amazing cook who loved feeding everyone else and could make just about anything. Among her family’s favorites were her green chili, enchiladas, lasagna, and potato salad. Sharing a meal made by Denise was one of the many ways she showed her love.

She loved to dance and enjoyed listening to all types of music. Denise was also a devoted Denver Broncos fan and took great pride in cheering on her team.

Denise will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her mother, Isabel Velasquez; her five children, Jessie Arispe (Jazmine), Liz Buxman (Gerard), Briana Miramontes (Ezequiel), Lorenzo Velasquez, and Alex Velasquez; her six grandsons and one granddaughter; her brother, Vince Velasquez; her sisters, Erica Davis, Valerie Andrade and Chris Vigil.

She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Michelle Yvonne Velasquez.

Denise leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and family. Her generous spirit and caring nature will never be forgotten.
