OBITUARY

Desda Marie Schmaling

March 26, 1931December 1, 2018

D. Marie Schmaling, of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 after 87 years. Marie was born to Joe Henry and Edna (McCleary) Henry on March 26, 1931 in Greeley, CO.

She graduated from Platteville High School in 1949.

Marie was a loving and caring grandmother to her grandchildren as well as her great grandchildren. She would often entertain them with her “tamale” dance. Those who were lucky enough to have caught a show are truly blessed and likely share her silly sense of humor. Her love for them was and remains surpassed only by their love for her.

Marie is survived by her husband Art Schmaling as well as their six children, Deborah Day (Mike), Jeff Hansen (Karen), Susan Bland (Marty), Sherri Schmaling (Bob), James Schmaling (Cindy), Robert Schmaling (Lisa), fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel located at 702 13th Street, Greeley, CO.

Deb, Jeff, Susan and families,
We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. It has been lots of years since we had seen your Mom. We remember her as our neighbor in Hillside when you were all children. You have been blessed with her presence for many years. We know that you will miss her and that your hearts are hurting now. May God's gentle hand give you all his comfort and peace.
Our love,
Bob and Shirley hart

I will never forget a flip flop in winter or lack of coat lecture. Grandma was a silly lady, and I am blessed to have known her and had her as an "extra" grandma for so many years. I will never forget the fun times we had, and will always think of her with every Oreo I eat. I know you will all miss her very much, as she had a special bond with each and every person she loved. I am lifting you all up in my prayers.

Love,
Abby Renee
