Donald Schilling passed away peacefully in his home in Johnstown Colorado on December 2nd, 2020 surrounded by his family. Don lost his mother at birth and was raised by his sister Josie. He was considered a brother to Ron, Gerry, Verlyn and Brenda.
Don worked for Denver Grouting Company for over 30 years, retiring as Vice President. He had a passion for collecting old tools, searching at auctions, and researching the history behind each tool. Don could tell you where every tool originated and how it was used. He shared his passion for tools by creating personalized display boxes for all of his kids and grandchildren, which took over twenty years to complete. Don enjoyed the many tool clubs that he belonged to in Denver, Nebraska, and Missouri; cherishing all of the people he met along the way.
Don also enjoyed getting together with friends at their card club, coffee club, and cruises. He most of all cherished his time with family. From various vacations to holiday gatherings, birthdays, and dinners at Wendy’s!
Don was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Elizabeth Schilling, siblings Josie, Bill and LeRoy, sons Mike and Dave, daughter in law Susan, and grandson Jared. Don is survived by his wife Janice, and children Dennis, Jerri (Jeff) and Cindy. His grandchildren Nick (Bobbi), Lainey (Dustin), Amanda, Chandler (Barbara), MiKayla, Brooke, and Hailee.
