Marlene and family - I was so sadly informed of your mother's recent passing as well as your dad's this past winter.  You know I will never forget Doris and her dedication to the youth in Evans and her long standing appointment as the ""original"" Evans Tree Board member!  Doris was the first citizen I met in Evans when I first interviewed and ate lunch with her - little did I know I was talking to the true ""powerhouse"" of Evans and unofficial historian!  She never waivered talking about you and family though and I was delighted to always hear her wonderful stories and how much she loved you all.  All of my best to you and to all of the extended Sellers family.  My thoughts and prayers, Andy

     My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.  I remember the delicious dinners your mom made for all of us from Cross Hall.  I will never forget her and the wonderful things she did.  She will always be in my memories.

My heart goes out to you Marlene and LeRoy.  I am sorry I can't be there to hug each of you. It is so hard to become adult orphans.  I cannot begin to tell you what your parents meant to me. Your Mom was always there with a word of advice anytime I asked. She forever let me gleen her garden at the end of the year.  She was like a Mom when I didn't have one and your Dad was like my Dad when I didn't have one.  I will truly miss her . I love you all. Jean

Doris Jean was second mom to many UNC students in 1969-early seventies, including me.  Feeding us a grand Sunday meal almost each Sunday evening of the school year in the home her and husband Gene so graciously kept.  Countless students were blessed by her.  Doris Jean made my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses.  Doris Jean wrote wonderful letters several times a year that I still have.  Doris Jean was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Doris was forever young at heart and mind.  She was a doer.  She was kind and generous.  I will miss the letters Doris and I will miss the opportunity to visit you again until we meet up later for a grand chili dinner in heaven.  Love and condolences to family of Doris Jean Sellers.
