Elijah Deon Graves, age 27, crossed over on April 26, 2021 due to respiratory complications. Elijah was born March 31, 1994. Elijah lived in Greeley, Colorado, his hometown

Elijah Deon Graves was born to Julio Trevino and Lynn Graves. In May of 2000, Johnny and Cedrik Resendez came into Lynn and Elijah’s life. They became a family. Jildi Resendez was born on February of 2004. The whole family fell in love with her. Elijah graduated from Central High School in May of 2012. Elijah was an Entrepreneur and an artist. He had multiple talents, but some that he really enjoyed were making necklaces, beautiful rings and crystal pendants. Elijah learned to blow glass and made jewelry from that as well. Elijah did some rapping performances at the Moxi, and the Auggie theater as The Prince Eli.

Elijah was a self-made botanist and was great at growing and nurturing plants. Elijah enjoyed Young Life Youth Group when he was younger, riding motorcycles, going to the Logan County Fair, the Greeley Stampede, trips to the Boyd Lake to boat and spending time with family. Elijah found peace in motivational quotes, a few he loved were “Art is more than a passion for me, it is my way of life”! Another was, “No great genius ever existed without a touch of madness”, by Aristotle.

Elijah is survived by parents Lynn and Johnny Resendez; Julio Trevino, siblings: Cedrik Resendez, Jildi Resendez; grandparents; Terry and Linda Graves, Anita Almeida (Hector Perez); Mario and Sylvia Hernandez; Aunts and uncles: Rhonda Braswell, Lori Hernandez (Abel Hernandez), Debra Kallsen (Nicholaus Kallsen), Amanda Graves, Ashley Graves, Gloria Lujan (Jimmy Lujan), Diane Santillano (Greg Krpan), Maribell Trevino, Fred Lujan, Dennis Ertle, Jerry Whited, Tony Rhea, George Euresti (Rosio Loma), Mario Hernandez Jr (Regina Ballez). Elijah,
I’m not sure where to begin.. I just wanted to thank you for being my first best friend. For being so stubborn & somehow convincing me to be your first girlfriend & getting caught sharing our first elementary school kiss lol. Sharing the beginner years with you is something I will always cherish. Middle school you became my protector & remained my bestest friend. High school was the first time apart and I will forever be sorry that we became distant. The last time I seen you will alway replay in my mind. It felt so natural to see you & hug you. I’ve missed you through the years, but now that you are gone I definitely feel your absence. I can’t wait to see you again and catch up. We’ll have so much to talk about and can reminisce on the childhood days. I know you’ll be surrounded by so much love in your new life & I know you’ll walk beside me in mine. I love you & I am forever grateful to have been apart of your life. P.S Thanks for not hating me forever for crashing your scooter. I’m sorry about that by the way. 💜 Rest Peacefully In Paradise Friend & Never Stop Shining.

I met Elijah when he came out to LA for treatment 6 or 7 years ago. I was the lead case manager responsible for doing his initial assessment. Within five minutes of my questioning and review of his life, I knew he was, "one of the chosen ones." What does that mean? I knew I was in the presence of a very old and deeply connected soul. One of the sacred ones who understands certain things about the, "otherworlds" that are too hard to communicate in human language.... maybe these indigo children are caught between two worlds. I don't know, I am only human myself... and have a limited capacity to conceptualize these things. What I do know is this... when Elijah was in the room, there was a certain light about, a very subtle vibration of joy and mysticism. And that came with the counterpart of pain and torment. For that beautiful Angel we can all feel some comfort knowing that you are not bound by that pain anymore, and you have been set free. Missed dearly, never forgotten... always known as one of the chosen ones. So much love Elijah Deon Graves.

Elijah was one of the kindest, gentlest, most sensitive, and most compassionate souls I have known. My fondest memories were watching him light up whenever he talked about or engaged in his artistic expression.

Boy.. you will be so missed - you were the most hard headed, yet open minded, caring person I’ve ever met. Our talks on the whys of sobriety, the things that people didn’t understand, the injustices, random talks sporadically brought on while you inhaled tamales. Love you.. Fly High kid your love, talents and abilities will carry on through your family and friends ♥️

Elijah was such a great guy. He literally always had my back and would encourage me to always know my worth. We supported each other for sure. Great times of just hanging out and talking. He would sometimes just show up to just be there. I loved that. He had great energy and I am so glad the universe made a point to have me hug him again before his final goodbye. I have his stones as well... I will keep them charged. I love all your family! Thank you for being part of my story.
