Betty was born on June 18th, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to Margaret Alene Gee and Leon Richard Roberts. She was named after Queen Elizabeth, who was crowned the year she was born. She graduated from high school in Wiggins, Colorado in 1971 and from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1975. Betty was married to Terry Hendrickson of Wiggins from 1976 to 1990. Betty married Gary Dever of Grover, Colorado in 1993. She was blessed with two sons, Adam and Garrett.
She is predeceased by her mother Margaret, father Leon, brothers Thomas and Gary, and son Adam.
Betty is survived by her husband Gary, son Garrett Hendrickson (grandchildren Grace, Olivia, Emery, and Lane) of Owasso, Oklahoma, grandchildren Ryan, Jayden, and Nickolis Hendrickson of Fort Morgan, niece Amanda Ng’ojoy (husband Jeff, children Austin, Margaret, and Gavin) of Cameron, North Carolina, sisters Ellen Murphrey of Manzanola, Karen Weimer (husband Rob) of Duncan, Oklahoma, brothers John Roberts (wife Connie) of Grand Junction, Dave Roberts (wife Peggy) of Fernwood, Idaho, Dan Roberts (wife Debbie) of Genoa, Timothy Roberts of Brighton, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Betty taught art at Wiggins High School, and was the Postmaster in Grover. She owned Betty’s Upholstery, was a volunteer Firefighter and First Responder, and was an avid photographer. Betty loved to crochet little animals and toys for her nieces and nephews, was an excellent seamstress and would make anything from wedding dresses to equipment bags for Flight for Life, Fire Departments, and Ambulances. She volunteered on the Pawnee School Board and 4-H club in Grover and attended the Hereford Community Church. She sent cards and letters to her family and friends for any occasion or for just no reason at all. Betty was a lover of all animals and especially her dogs.
Betty was a faithful follower of Christ and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend to so many.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. There will be a viewing at 11:00am, funeral service at noon, and a reception immediately following the service. A Private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date.
