Elizabeth “Ann” Potter passed away November 7, 2014 at Garden Square Westlake, assisted living facility. Ann was born on June 9, 1931 in Syracuse, Kansas to Earl and Edna (Forgy) Baker. At six years old, her family moved to North Platte, Nebraska.
During Ann’s high school years, she was Majorette in the marching band and graduated North Platte High School in 1949. Soon after graduation, Ann married Gordon Potter of Hershey, Nebraska.
After farming for two years south of Hershey, Ann and Gordon moved to Greeley, Colorado where Ann started in the grocery business and worked as a checker then bookkeeper at Albertsons for forty one years. After retiring from the grocery business, Ann enjoyed helping with Weld County election polling from 2005 until 2014, where she was still able to see so many of her friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Gordon of Greeley, CO; parents Earl and Edna Baker of North Platte, NE; sisters Ella Higgins of Des Moines, IA, Elsie Mannon of Ft. Collins, CO; and brother Earl Baker of North Platte, NE.
Ann is survived by her sons; Bill Potter of Gillette, WY; Dick (Fran) Potter of Story, WY; Jack (Gayle) Potter of Loveland, CO; and Tom (Leigh Ann) Potter of La Salle, CO; 12 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
Ann’s world revolved around her family and she was happiest when they all were together. She loved motorcycle riding, white water-rafting, camping and vacationing with her boys.
The family acknowledges and wishes to thank the entire staff and all the residents of Garden Square Westlake for all their prayers, concern, and loving care for Ann during her stay.
Services will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2014, with internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens following. After graveside services, a reception will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church for all of Ann’s friends and family.
