Ellen Elise Danley, 96, of Keenesburg, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Aladdin Assisted Living in Keenesburg. She was born on March 12, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Laura (Lamb) Pralle.
Ellen was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska where she attended Prescott grade school, Irvin Jr. High, Lincoln High School and University High School.
On February 8, 1941, Ellen married Lloyd Danley at First Plymouth Church in Lincoln. In 1955, Ellen, Lloyd and family moved to Colorado and then in 1961 they moved to California. They moved around to many different homes and then sold everything they owned and traveled all over the US. They finally settled in Yucaipa, California. After Lloyd’s passing, Ellen moved to Aladdin Assisted Living to be near her daughter and family.
Ellen was a housewife and clerk for most of her life. She enjoyed reading novels, listening to classical and Opera music, sewing and raising dogs. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting her children and relatives all around the United States.
Ellen is survived by daughter, Linda (Ronald) Englehardt of Keenesburg; sons, Phillip (Sue) Danley of Welches, Oregon, Michael (Kathleen) Danley of LaVerne, California and Richard (Charlene) Danley of Meridan, Idaho; grandchildren, Phillip (Cheryl) Danley of Boise, Idaho, Paul (Stacy) Danley of Ft. Worth, Texas, Cindy (Mike) Meza of Sabostopol, California, John Hewitt of Boise, Idaho, Chris (Brenda) Danley of Boise, Idaho, Wendy Englehardt of Keenesburg, Robin (Travis) Johnson of Orchard, Colorado, Angela Englehardt of Greeley, Colorado, Hope (Gray) Scott of Denton, Texas, Helen (Nathan) Hart of Evans, Minnesota and Nori Lira of Wallace, California; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a special brother-in-law, Bob Danley and her friends at the Aladdin Assisted Living.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Danley, daughter, Diane Hewitt, her mother and father, Robert and Laura Pralle, sister, Janet Shaner, brother, Robert Pralle, granddaughters, Kristi O’Connor and Kristin Nayaert and great-grandsons, Steven Danley and Shaun Wells.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Aladdin Assisted Living in Keenesburg
