Elva June Cahill, age 91, of Eaton, Colorado peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, June 22, 2025. She was born on April 27, 1934 in Oklahoma to David and Beulah (Robb) Walker. The family moved to Windsor, Colorado when Elva was 4 years old, and she was raised there with her sister.
Elva married Jardine Brant when she was 16 years old, and was able to be a stay-at-home mom to her three children until Jardine passed away. Elva earned her GED and began her career as an assistant teacher at Eaton Elementary, primarily working with kindergartners, until her retirement. She loved her work and thoroughly enjoyed the children.
Elva's sister introduced her to Bill Cahill, and in 1968 they married. They were together for over 40 years until his passing in 2010. Bill and Elva enjoyed traveling with Bill's niece and her husband. Elva was an avid reader, and always had 2 or 3 books going at one time. She loved music, and was an excellent pianist. Elva was a kind person who will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Beulah Walker; sister, Oma Darlene Nickle; and her husbands, Jardine Brant and Bill Cahill.
Elva is survived by her children, Ken Brant, Steve Brant (Vicki), Debbie Mueller (Lance); 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. Immediately following the service, Elva will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
