It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Erin Leah Baumbach Haines who left this world on May 5th 2026, at the age of 47 in Greeley CO. She was surrounded by the love of her family and many memories she created throughout her life. Erin was born on June 25th 1978, to parents Pat and David Baumbach at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln Nebraska. She later grew up in Longmont Colorado where she attended school and built friendships rooted in kindness, laughter, and generosity.
During her teenage years Erin worked at her family's print shop in Sterling Colorado. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Sand Dunes and going roller skating. She loved going to the mountains whether it was to camp, fish, or ski. She found peace and happiness being outdoors. She was very outgoing and would often be with her brother Vance, cruising down main street on Saturday nights, going to the country music festival, or line dancing.
She had a passion for working in the auto industry. In her 20’s she worked delivering auto parts throughout the area for local stores. Doing so, she met her former husband Mike Haines, and together they moved to Evans CO where they welcomed their daughters Kiaya and Alexis. Though they later divorced, they shared the love and pride of raising their daughters together.
Erin was a devoted mother to her children Kiaya Haines, Alexis Haines, and Korbin Baumbach. She enjoyed taking her kids camping and going on long road trips to explore the states. She wanted her kids to have the same love of the outdoors as she once did. She was the best mother to her three kids. Erin taught her children how to be fearless, sympathetic, and ambitious. They were her greatest achievement, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Erin had a creative and compassionate spirit and especially enjoyed taking care of other people. She would crochet baby blankets for new babies in the family. She also was an adventurous cook and taught her children the family recipes. Her favorite dishes to share were her delicious jalapeno cream cheese dip and her famous “monkey bread.” Erin embraced life fully and found joy in the simple moments spent with the people she loved most.
Erin is survived by her mother, Patricia Meyer (York, NE); her children Kiaya Haines, Alexis Haines, and Korbin Baumbach; her best friends Jamie (Andy) Encinia; dear friends Sarah Casias, Brett Deleplauque, and Sarah Katzer; her brother Vance (Heather) Baumbach, Aunt Beverly Freng (Huron SD), Aunt Arlene Graffis (Wallbridge, OH) Uncle Jim Meyer (Hartington, NE), Uncle Robert (Michelle) Meyer (Guthrie, OK.) And many other important extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her father David Baumbach, grandparents Tom and Lucille Meyer, Ruth and William Baumbach, and her soul dog Maggie.
Erin will be remembered for her loving heart, adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and the deep devotion and love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy will continue to live on in the lives she touched and in the countless memories shared by those who knew and loved her.
